Zinedine ZIDANE | More than a Footballer
Zinedine Zidane

Zinedine Zidane got off to a bumpy start for Real Madrid last year after his record $68.6 million transfer from Juventus. Amateur football accountants quickly began to suggest that the price paid for the French midfielder had been
a mistake.
They could be right, Zidane might be worth even more. Let's audit his account: World Cup Champion, European Champion, Serie A champion, and now Champions League winner. Win or lose, his ability to bend a game in his favour the way he bends the ball around defenders has made this player the best one.

  Osasuna - Real Madrid 1 - 2

On a drizzly evening at The Sadar Stadium, two late goals from Michael Owen and Ivan Helguera gave Real Madrid their first victory at Pamplona for four years on Sunday and carried them back to within four points of Primera División leaders FC Barcelona.

  Real Madrid - Espanyol 4 - 0

Zizou opened Real's account on five minutes, drilling a shot into the roof of the net. Raul added a second just before the half-hour and sealed the victory on 75 minutes when he flicked in Solari's cross from the left. Thomas Gravesen scored the fourth, his first goal for Real Madrid.
